SWAZI MOBILE ROAMS IN OVER 26 COUNTRIES

MBABANE – It seems like each day comes with a new milestone for Swazi Mobile.

Fresh from venturing into the business of fixed wireless broadband, the new mobile company has announced that it was now roaming in 26 countries outside South Africa.
This follows the signing of an agreement with one of the world’s leading telecommunications companies, Vodafone Group.

Some of the countries where Swazi Mobile customers can now enjoy the roaming service include Albania, Australia, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ghana and Germany.
Others are India, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Lesotho, Malta, Mozambique, Netherlands and New Zealand.
The rest are Nigeria, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Tanzania, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
The latest developments come three weeks after the company announced its international roaming service which began with signing an agreement with South African giants, Telkom SA.

According to Wikipedia, the Vodafone Group is known for having a significant presence in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific through its subsidiary undertakings, joint ventures, associated undertakings and investments.
In South Africa, Vodafone has a stake of over 60 per cent on Vodacom Group Limited which is one of the biggest telecommunications companies in the neighbouring country.

In its website, Vodafone boasts of its ability to offer roaming services which ensure that over 750 million mobile customers confidently connect abroad and enjoy voice and data services.
It states that its central wholesale roaming team manages the contracts and technical connectivity with more than 650 foreign networks in almost every country of the world.

Furthermore, it takes pride in the fact that it steers customers to the best available network and monitors their voice and data quality, around the clock and also negotiates roaming rates and traffic volumes with its roaming partners and settle’s the resulting payments with them.
The news of the agreement was confirmed by Swazi Mobile Brand and Communications Manager Macford Sibandze, who stated that it was a milestone when considering that the company was only four months old.
Sibandze stated that it was a perfect timing to introduce the roaming service in most of the countries as the company was aware that they had visitors from Swaziland.
